Design Wall Monday.

An Australian has designed a free project for this year and you make a block a day and finish the year with a 90 inch square quilt. Here is her mockup. You can find the details at 365challenge.com.au

I have started it and so far have managed to stay up to date. Of course it has only been four days but it's a little victory for me.

I hope I can keep up because I think the finished quilt will be awesome.

Using the stash

As part of getting organised I need to reduce the amount of stuff I have . I have so much material - more than enough for one lifetime so this year I am going to use some of it. I'm not going no buy as I still need a regular fix but hopefully by the end of the year there will be more out than in.

My first weeks report then.

Out. 1 1/2 metres

In. O

I actually cut into a holy fabric this week. You know the one. You love it and keep getting it out to use and then return it to the cupboard. Well no more. Time to use it. Here is just a glimpse of the start of the project I am using it in.

Design Wall Monday

As always I am working on a myriad of projects. I have started the Farmers Wife quit along. I think they are up to about block thirty. Here is block three of mine cut out this week. Slow and steady progress suits me fine.

Missing in action

I have been playing on Instagram this year. I do love it. Lots of pretty pictures but have missed having my blog to look back on. So time to try again.

Resolutions for me started on Boxing Day. I am overwhelmed by stuff and next year want less and for it to be organised so I can find what I want when I need it. There are lots of treasures lurking in there that should be being used not languishing. I refuse to overwhelm myself but will just plod away at it.

First up is the cutting table. I can't remember the last time it was clear enough to cut without pushing stuff out of the way.

I made some progress on day one and hopefully soon the table will be able to be seen.

Just so it's not all doom and gloom here are my nine most liked projects on Instagram this year. While I did have more finishes only one is represented here.

Still working on too many projects but today I made the one hour basket

Took me longer than an hour but I will be quicker next time.

The 100 day project.

These days I find I hang out on Instagram hence the neglect of my blog. Several of my readers have told me that they don't do other forms of social media so I will still do an occasional post here.

Currently I am participating in the 100 days project. The idea is to commit to doing something for 100 days and post a daily photograph.

I committed to sewing, knitting or crocheting each day during the challenge. Here's what I have worked on in the last seven days.

Day one I started knitting a scarf for Allison aged nine. Definitely not my choice of colours but she loves it.

Day 2.. I sewed another row of hexagons together for a quilt based on an Annie Downs design. I bought a kit at the quilt show last year and haven't finished a block yet. Definetely a slow burner project.

Day 3 saw me hand quilting. I have been working on this project off and on for the last nine months and the finish line is close. A mini goal is to finish the quilting and get it bound in the 100 days.

Day 4 and I was knitting again. This time a shawl for me. I think I have made a mistake with the pattern row but am pretty sure I can live with it.

Day 5 I was knitting again but of course on a different project. This is destined to become a jumper for me. Love the yarn but lots of knitting to come.

Day 6 and another old project came out of hibernation. Sewing cream hexagons together is not crazy is it?

Day 7 saw me in a workshop with Chris Jerd. The project is called scrappy windmills not that you would know from my progress. My brain did not want to go scrappy today so mine will be much more controlled.

well that's it for me this week and I will be back again next Sunday.

Bust the stash.

This sums up my week. Don't know why but I found it hard to garner enthusiasm for anything.

It was not all blah. The joy of dahlias from the florist

and then today this beauty I have grown.

Last night a family engagement and the party was by the beach. The Ocean at night is one of my favourite things. I need to get there more often.

If it hadn't been raining I would have gone for a paddle. This week will be better.
